UNVEILING THE CONCEPT OF THE STEPHEN KESHI FOOTBALL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER ( SKFVTC) A CLARION CALL FOR CLASS OF 2013 SUPER EAGLES PLAYERS’ SUPPORT

The Idea to put an outstanding and enduring structure in place to achieve the twin objectives of immortalizing the legacies and contributions of Stephen Keshi, former Super eagles captain and coach, to African Football development and seve as a most veritable platform for the discovery and development of young talented Football players was conceived and put in place by group of former Nigeria players and colleagues of our late Football icon and legend after his death in 2016.

Amongst the objective of putting up the training center located in Obazuwa behind Ekhewan Barracks Benin, Edo State includes

1.Serving as an integrated non-profit football village for identifying, nurturing, and developing talented football youths nationwide.

2. Expose future footballers to vocations and conventional academic curriculum to acquire essential certificates; should they encounter an injury rampant with the game, they will still live normally.

3. Create alternative career paths for our passionate and teeming sports-loving youths who love Football but cannot make it to the professional cadre.

4. Host the 2025 edition of the Stephen Keshi Male and Female Under 17 tournaments at the Obazuwa site.

5. Source for investors to build, operate and transfer.

6. Encourage donors who would build and donate physical structures to the Centre and have them named after them.

The integrated football village, Stephen Keshi Football and Vocational Training Centre, SKFVTC is a comprehensive facility with football-playing pitches, hostels, an agro-allied section, primary and secondary schools, vocational training workshops, etc.

The starting point is developing the two training pitches, hostels, main entrance gate, infrastructures, and other ancillary facilities to enable SKFVTC host the 7th edition of the annual Stephen Keshi National Under 17 Football tournament at the complex in 2025. In achieving this dream, It will be recalled that His Royal Highness, Edun Akenzua MFR JP, the Enogie of Obazuwa Dukedom, who is now late, graciously gifted a massive expanse of land measuring 1,000ft by 1,000ft at Obazuwa, upon which we the SKFVTC board of trustees has commenced the plan to build the Stephen Keshi Football and Vocational Training Centre. We need the support of all stakeholder, and especially Class of the 2013 Super eagles players and potential investors,.
